Meet Scott
Scott Ortis is a father, businessman, and conservative outsider. He is a candidate for Alabama State Senate District 15.
Ortis began his professional life teaching in public schools before earning an accelerated pharmacy degree and later completing both an MBA and a Master of Public Health at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
After working as a pharmacist and leading operations for a regional healthcare company, Ortis founded Solutions Infusion Therapy in 2003. Over the next 20 years, he grew the company into one of Alabama’s leading home infusion and enteral care providers, serving families across the state and competing successfully against national healthcare corporations.
A lifelong conservative Republican, Ortis is running to cut taxes, reduce unnecessary regulations, expand workforce training, pass term limits, and ensure that every student leaves high school either college or career ready.
Ortis is the father of five, including his son Sid, who passed away after a courageous fight with pediatric cancer. In Sid’s memory, Ortis helped establish the Sid Strong Foundation to support pediatric cancer research.
Term Limits
Public office is about service. It was never meant to be a career. For too long, career politicians have made things harder than they need to be. I am going to Montgomery to serve you and your interests, then I am coming home. We need to pass term limits in our state.
Lowering the Cost of Living
Too many Alabamians show up every day, do the right thing, and still feel like it’s impossible to get ahead. We need to put the taxpayer’s money back in their pockets and eliminate regulations that drive up costs for Alabama families and businesses. Cutting taxes and regulations should always be a top priority.
Preparing Our Students
Every high school graduate should be either career- or college-ready, and our classrooms should be about education, not indoctrination. They are not the place for woke politics or social justice movements. Parents’ rights must be respected, and students need to be ready to fill the jobs of tomorrow.
Fighting Fraud and Abuse
Our tax dollars are not the government’s money. It is our money. I will fight for accountability and reasonable spending. We need a zero-tolerance policy in Alabama for the waste, fraud, and abuse we have seen around the country.
Promoting Alabama Family Values
Our Alabama values make this state a great place to live, work, and raise a family. As a father, I will always fight for and promote our conservative values. We will protect girls’ bathrooms and locker rooms and promote policies that support family growth, whether that is IVF or tax credits.
